I've been an avid fan on the Clubland franchise since the beginning and I'm pleased to say they are back in-tune (I couldn't resist that!) with Clubland 13. There is a mixture of hard-style, fast-paced, dance floor stormers (Darren Styles, Hypasonic too name a few) all the way across the board to melodic, 135bpm soul-soothers (Chicane vs Natasha Bedingfield).

Also making they're annual appearance are the dozens of remixes that, rather surprisingly, don't hinder the album at all. Some of them are just brilliant and are guaranteed to get you up and boogieing like it's 1999.

This is a turn-it-up-and-annoy-the-neighbours album!

I really wanted to like this straight away and after the rave reviews was dying to get hands on it..received today and the first cd is outstanding..was expecting the same quality on cd 2 and 3..CD2 quite electro , took me a few listens to get into but now quite like it, not instant hit like CD1..CD 3 very dark and twisted and if that's your thing then so be it but not mine...First cd is very reminiscent of old HK releases with uplifting vocal tracks, that's not discounting "Til You come back to me " on cd 2, however CD3 too twisted..Have not been to a Fierce Angels night and if all 3 CD's reflect that and I'm missing the point then I apologise ...quite a lot of new tracks compared to previous FA releases, however my own personal preferences are ... I love clubland music, so when i brought this CD i thought it was going to be a really good mixture of tracks. I'd say that the first few tracks are alright, and then it goes downhill from there. I personally am very disappointed with the CD and cant say that i could honestly recommend it.

Fierce Angel Presents: Es Vive 2008

...of Mark Doyle..there has been little consistency since he set up Fierce..I find this compilation frustrating..the first is named Poolside Chill, whilst undoubtedly a fine collection of songs more for after club relaxing or cosying by fireside after day on slopes etc, doesn't conjure images of the White Isle or sunny climes..The 2nd CD is a collection re-hashed oldies and some cheesey efforts where MD has let the standard slip considerably..The 3rd is very electro and flows quite well, however a few oldies in there as well..I think the only people that will get this, are the genuine and regular visitors to Es Vive and Base Bar..In my view HK are getting all the decent tunes and mixes at the moment, but for me it's swings and roundabouts when HK put out ...
