The Doctor Is In!Search: Good Doctor by: Dr. Feelgood Release Date June 28, 1994 This marvellous compilation is an eye-opener for anyone who likes authentic mean boogie-woogie piano with good old time blues shouting vocals. Piano Red (real name Willie Perryman)was an albino back playing the bars and clubs of Atlanta in the 1930s and 40s. Against the odds, he was "discovered" by RCA in 1950 and had an instant hit with "Rockin' with Red", surely one of the first authentic rock'roll recordings ever. The first 2 of this 4 disc set feature Red's RCA recordings through to 1958 and is 100% brilliant (just listen to "Decatur Street Blues" for example!),whilst Disc 3 has a live concert from 1955 which captures the exuberance of Piano Red in person, plus some wonderful studio tracks featuring a phenomenal(but unknown) blues guitarist ...
