Drink Me [VINYL]Search: Granite by: Salad Release Date March 16, 1995 Salad were always blighted by their lead singer, the ex-model and MTV presenter Marijne; and being crammed in with Britpop no-hopers like Menswear, Lush and Sleeper didn't help matters further. It's a shame as their second album Drink Me is one of the most curious but pleasantly surprising albums of the mid 90s. From the simultaneously bathetic and anthemic opener Motorbike to Heaven through the shambolic dischordant ode to plastic surgery Drink The Elixir, Salad set the pace with chiming guitars, time and tempo changes, ambiguous lyrics and killer choruses.
