This set does not, despite the title, include the complete studio recordings. However, every studio track previously released is here. There are even about three exclusive tracks (or rather alternative versions of existing songs) not available anywhere else. To get the rest, you'd probably have to separately buy double the number of CD's included here, such is the rarity of some of the tracks. For instance, "I Am The City" was only previously included on "More Abba Gold" which has now been deleted.

The only things you won't find in this set are the live recordings, however a new live CD is allegedly in the pipeline which will hopefully take care of these. Only two or three live recordings are currently available on CD elsewhere. ... Read More:

There have been numerous AbbA collections (Gold, More Gold, Greatest Hits 1 & 2, Thank You For The Music, etc) but this one is a must. Not only does it include the extended version of 'Voulez Vous', which is a rarity & the UK remix of 'Ring Ring' but it includes all of their promo videos. Along with Queen, ABBA were quick to see the importance and the necessity of a promo video and although the videos are not exactly exciting, who can ever forget the video's for 'Knowing Me Knowing You' or 'The Winner Takes It All'. If you are new to ABBA, this is the one for you but it is just as important for completests.

If you are anything but an Abba fanatic, this album is far from being an essential purchase. Originally released in 1973 (it wasn't released in Britain until much later),the album features 12 pre-Waterloo tracks that vary in quality greatly. Some of these tracks will be familiar to anyone who bought the 1976 LP 'Greatest Hits' as this is where they made their first appearance in the UK. These tracks include 'Ring Ring' (which was almost Sweden's 1973 Eurovision entry), Another Town-Another Train, People Need Love (Abba's first single),He Is Your Brother and Nina,Pretty Balerina.
