Its a well recorded collection if you just want these titles, but if you want the originals then look elsewhere. For the flavour of original rock and roll try the American Graffiti sound track double album or the Best of Doo Wop collection.

Double CD's of summer music have become a regular feature in Britain over the last few years. Several of these collections have focused exclusively on the sixties, and this is the 2002 variation on the theme.

All but two of the fifty four tracks are well known. Record companies like to unearth some unusual tracks every now and again, in the hope of getting extra sales from people who want these rarities. (It wasn't the reason I bought the album - I just happened to like the compilation as a whole). On this occasion, the rarities are Gimmie gimmie good lovin' (Crazy Elephant) and Walkin' my cat named Dog (Norma Tanega). I don't remember hearing either of them before.

Just to echo the words of the last reviwer, this is a fantastic 60's comp, the good thing is it includes not just the typical hits that you are familar with, but some ones that you might have forgoten about, I hope they release another one like this.

I bought this for a friend, but when we heard it, I bought one myself! It has all the classic tunes from the movies. An uplifting soundtrack thats great for getting ready to go out to. Highly recommended!

John Lennon's Jukebox

When you realise what was missed off this one in favor of stuff that could be seen as unnecessary the question is whats the point?
The most garish mistake is to include the live recording by the Miracles which would never have been on any jukebox.
I also can't see why Lennon would have preferred the cover of Some other guy-by another Liverpool group who Decca actually SIGNED after learning the lessons of a year earlier to the superior original by Richie Barret.Theres no problem licensing an Atlantic recording in any case as the track is on one of the Leiber Stoller compilations.
At the moment though its the only way you can obtain the Timmy Shaw song-an artist unknown even on Wikipedia!
