A great collection of a very varied taste. You'll probably have some of these tracks already but they're mixed together really well giving a great fell to the CD. The way Sugar Minotts 'Crazy Soundboy' gives way to 'Caught Up' is sheer quality. The MCD track is also superb. Yellow submarine by Roots himself is a little odd, but very chilled with a booming dubby bassline. |

Although this recording doesn't come with the dialogue, it offers a lot, and it does so in spades. Mackerras adopts bright, breezy tempi throughout, and his orchestra responds with peerless playing. There is precision and life in every bar, and you feel as if you can hear the felicitous nuances in Sullivan's orchestrations. It helps that Mackerras is blessed by a superb cast of soloists.
