For anyone who loves the chillout style of compilation albums, this CD is definitely worth a listen. I am somewhat biased as a lover of both chillout and the female voice. Amongst the more popular tracks such as Appleton's 'Don't Worry', Kelly Rowland's 'Stole' and Sugababes' 'Stronger' are some real pearls by new (to me) artists such as Canadian pair Sherrie Lea and Chantal Kreviazuk. I've never been a huge fan of Lisa Stansfield, but the track here, 'Time To Make You Mine', is a real stand-out, sensuous enough to make the hair on the back of one's neck stand on end. There are great songs here but what a great collection this is of some of the best singers around such as Katie Melua, Beulah Garside, Alyson Williams... I'd be delighted ... Read More:

This is a Lou record with a difference in that he does the slow Sebadoh all the way through and instead of the dual/triple personality of Sebadoh you get the soft/lofi-Lou side all the way through (which is what you want sometimes).
It's prety much all in the vein of On Fire, Skull, Not a Friend, Perverted World and Too Pure for example, a blueprint which he really just carried into the Folk Implosion/New Folk Implosion on songs like Gravity Decides, Pearl, Leaving It Up to Me and Spoiled but adding uncharacteristically sparkly production. That New Folk implosion polish is thankfully absent and it's back to the muddy warmth of the early 90s albeit with a nod to his recent direction in the addition of some muffled beats and glitchy ...
