. You'll Never Beat the IrishSearch: Hot Asphalt by: Wolfe Tones Release Date February 01, 2005 I had heard so much about the Legendary Wolf Tones and thought I must try one of their albums. I think overall I picked the wrong one ! Sure there are some great songs. The opening and closing track 'You'll Never Beat The Irish Pt's 1 and 2'. is a very catchy song indeed but is spoilt by the inclusion of synthesizers to represent bagpipes and other instruments which mars it for me. A good song never the less. 'The Crossing' is perhaps my favourite track on the album a great ballad sung with passion.The song will be a classic. The track 'Grace' is also very nice and in similar vein. 'The Rebel','In Belfast', Halloween 'Chicago' and 'Thank God for America' are terrible ! 'The Rebel' has no melody whatsoever, it is just a diatribe ... Read More: |
