Being in the ownership of every studio album the Talking Heads have released, "Remain In Light" is my favourite of them all. If you're new to Talking Heads, I would recommend BUYING THIS ALBUM - it's much more accessible than their more widely-known "Fear Of Music" and yet holds most of the experimental nature of the previous album which serves "Remain In Light"'s brilliance.
The first track, "Born Under Punches (The Heat Goes On)" is my favourite Talking Heads song, and the album also features the amazing "The Great Curve" and the widely-accredited "Once In A Lifetime".
Aside from this album, get "Fear Of Music". I'd also reccommend "Naked" - it's underrated and amazing.

Like TH? Even think that they are pretty good, or perhaps just fair to middling? Well, you get this and you'll realise the genius that they were. But I'm not here to preach, esp. to those who are no doubt already converted.
Ignore for a minute that EACH of these CDs has a DVD on the flipside, and ignore that each has been remastered with 5.1 surround. This is the entire studio collection, and to say that it's awesome is a total cop out. It's full of tracks I didn't know I knew and of gems I thought I wouldn't hear again (there are extras on each CD, for example 'Sugar in my Cup', which until now appeared only on Sand in the Vaseline, appears here).
The downside is the price as it's only on import. But here's a tip, do what I did, ... Read More:

I am not a massive Talking Heads fan, but I love 'Remain in Light' and got this Best-of as well to sample all of their other albums at once. However, I am suspicious that this is not a truely representative selection because the three songs from 'Remain in Light' have been so poorly selected. Surely 'Born Under Punches (The Heat Goes On)' and 'Crosseyed And Painless' - absolutely monster tracks - should have taken precedence over the comparatively low-key 'Houses in Motion' and 'This Must be the Place'. Of course, 'Once in a Lifetime' is a shoe-in and appears here in all its glory. Nevertheless, it is poor decisions like this that can make a novice survey the career of a great band and say ...
