One morning I was happy going about my business, when I found myself feeling rather sleepy, a colored gas filled the room...the next thing I know I was tied to a chair, a mysterious figure puts a CD on...

There's something deeply disturbing about this album, I don't know, maybe it's the fact that within a few minutes we hear a gorgeous string arrangement (you can just imagine the birds tweeting), then straight into a march, then a manic jazz piece! Add to the recipe a big dollop of typical prisoner dialogue and you have this album.

strange? Yes, and its brilliant!

I do own the original issues of these alums, but they never really worked for me, they just seemed thrown together, a collection of music, that's all... ... Read More:

Twila Paris is a rarity in the world of Christian pop music: she's a survivor in an industry that disposes of veteran artists, quickly puts their recordings out of print and treats 'em like they never existed. Just think of WhiteHeart as an example (what? Never heard of 'em? Exactly).

For nearly 25 years (yes, it's been that long!) Paris has maintained an excellent level of singing, recording and writing songs praising the Father and this collection reflects it. But while it's the best retrospective available, it's not quite the ultimate collection suggested by the title.

The project opens with her two signature songs. "God is in Control" won her a Dove for Song of the Year and is a wonderful anthem of faith. "The Warrior is a Child" is presented in its original recording. It might sound dated, but only slightly so, and I prefer this version of the classic over the one on "A Heart That Knows You."

The rest of the album is a list of her best songs. From the praise songs "We Will Glorify," "We Bow Down," "He is Exalted," and "Lamb of God" to recent radio hits "Faithful Friend," ... Read More:
