I disagree with the previous reviewer, these book sets are marvelous. I have several and keep them with my Vinyl (Yes I still keep Vinyl). If you want a CD Box set, there is an alternative version from Motown, with an identicle track listing. This book set is the same price but includes a lavish hard back book with a wealth of information & history.

The music is what counts and the music here is consistently excellent and is an comprehensive history of the artist that is Stevie Wonder - Highly Recommended

talking book this is a classic soul album i love it and play it quite regually its cool it features two known songs you are the sunshine of my life,superstition and lots of other good songs which aint recoginised so much radios have a habit of playing 2 or 3 songs by one artist all radio stations are guilty of it eg queen bohemian rhapsody,youre my best friend,dont stop me now and sometimes we will rock you but theres plenty of other fab songs by queen eg innuendo,these are the days of our lives,somebody to love and more i like a winters tale too off the made in heaven album fab!! but they do this with any artist play certain songs thats why i get bored by radio stations rather go and put my own cds on!! if i listen too radio its radio2 mark radcliffe ... This re-issue is a compilation of two distinct albums of Mendes's releases from the 1970's. The first ten songs come from the musician/arranger's self-titled album, an homage to songs made famous by others. Three songs written by Stevie Wonder ("All in Love is Fair," "I Believe When I Fall in Love It Will Be Forever," and "Lookin' for Another Pure Love") are featured, along with George Harrison's "Here Comes the Sun". The compositions of Thom Bell and Linda Creed (of Philadelphia sound fame) are reflected in the cover of "Let Them Work it Out".

The best cuts are the remake of Donnie Hathaway's classic "Someday We'll All Be Free" and "The Trouble With Hello is Goodbye," a song reminiscent of Mendes's earlier "When Summer Turns to Snow" from the 60's.

Wow, what a great soundtrack! Right from the outset the album starts off with the opening track from the film the fabulous 'You're Gonna Miss Me' by The Thirteenth Floor Elevators, and ends with Stevie Wonder's 'I Believe (When I Fall In Love It Will Be Forever)'. But I feel the pinnacle of the album is Jack Black's rendition of Marvin Gaye's 'Let's Get It On', great in the movie, great on the soundtrack. Every song on the album is top notch, if you are a fan of the movie make sure you add this to your cd collection!

Just to reccomand other people this double compilation, which includes a lot of famous songs end 70'beginning 80', ther performer is really great, Micheal Mc Donald voice it seems to keep these songs alive, even the one's older than 20 year, but you do not realise that!! He si great, and this kind of music is always appreciate expecially if you have friends at dinner, it is easy listening music and you'll never change this cd when it is over!
