Alison Krauss I guess is one of those singers you either love or hate. She has a tonal quality that for me epitomises the very best in Bluegrass. This album is no exception. The sheer quality of her voice is at time unbelievable
and whilst it is true she veers away from pure bluegrass - her strength is that she can carry this off with huge credibility. I bought this album not only because I love Alison Krauss - but I heard her wonderful duet with James Taylor of "hows the world treating you?"- and simply had to have it! I also adore her version of "I'm just a country boy/girl" ... Read More:

Three different soundtrack albums were released for the movie Prince of Egypt, so although I did not see it, I guess that there was a lot of music in it. This soundtrack focuses on the country recordings, showcasing many different aspects of country music as it was at the time. Although (as far as I know) all songs were specially recorded for the album, some have since appeared on individual albums by the artists.
If you are familiar with any of the featured singers, you will not be surprised at anything here, as each of them adopts their usual style. Your favorite tracks are therefore likely to depend on who your favorite singers are. I particularly like the duet featuring Randy Travis and Linda Davis and the tracks featuring Alison Krauss, ... Bert Kaempfert was such a versatile orchestra leader that he covered several markets with his 'sound' and I think this makes it difficult to choose one CD from another. I prefer his soft, easy listening, wordless chorus tracks (like 'Love comes but once') to his upbeat MOR tracks (like 'A swingin' safari') but record companies take the view that their customers like variety and so mix both tracks together on Bert's re-issues. Amazon's listen to the tracks feature is a great help here to select which CD to buy.
This CD fortunately has my kind of tracks, so if you want some excellent European Sixties easy listening tracks you'll enjoy this disc. Eleven of these were issued by Decca in 1965 on the LP 'Three O'clock in the Morning'. Of ... Read More:
