Porter Wagoner was a major country star of the sixties with a popular American TV show. To those who can't stand country music, he represents all that is wrong with it - gaudy outfits, songs (and narrations) about prison, murder and every other kind of tragedy, a musical backing featuring steel guitar, and so the list goes on. This claim without any doubt is no exageration, this Gene Vincent cd box set is phenomenal!Although the cd box set does not contain the alternate takes that can be found on the EMI cd boxset or the alternate and live takes takes that can be found on various Rockstar cd releases, it does, however contain previously unissued stereo versions. This is a wonderful cd boxset, the definitive compilation, beautifully presented, containing eight cds and a comprehensive hardback book including a concise discography and superb photographs. The Original Sun Albums: Complete Collection

Very meager for a "Box Set" - in fact it's just the individual CD album releases put in a box and, er, that's it! The CDs don't even match each other particularly well as they were not designed to be a "set". There is no booklet...........nothing! However, the music speaks volumes for itself - and what voice! Each CD is a replica of one Cash's albums released by Sun during and after his time signed to the label. There are bonus tracks a-plenty and very little I can think of is missing. One review I read said that this is a limited release of 2,500 in this format so don't leave it too long before deciding. This music is the real deal and, although I love Cash's Columbia and American recordings too, this is the man's finest hour. Buy it today!
