Fake Chemical State

Although I liked Fleshwounds, the album was a bit too introspective for my liking. Chemical is much stronger both musically & lyrically with pretty much 100% quality throughout, harking back to some of Skunk's best stuff & a more direct insight into a maturing Skin.
Don't need a reason is particularly impressive in that it takes some simple ideas & works them very cleverly into a repeatedly engaging set of builds.
One not to miss!!

I decided to purchase this CD to have a copy of that great 70's hit 'Halelujah Freedom' only to be pleasantly reminded of hits like 'Goodbye Baby Jane' and 'Sweet illusion' once I played it, however the real suprise was some of the other tracks especially the private stock & previously unissued tracks on disc two like 'Highland Girl, Rumours, Susie Dark - Susie Blue, Slow Down, Ellie Don't Go' . . . . the list goes on, Junior (who used to be in Marmalade for those who didn't know) you are an extremely versatile artist, well done. Go on listen to this album and take a trip down memory lane you might even surprise yourself.

As a Chisel fan of old I was amazed to find that they had re-formed, so I had to have this album. It is so good to see them back together again and this album just shows what everybody here in England was missing the first time round. If you are a Chisel fan, you must buy it! For anybody that isn't I think you may need to give it a couple of listens before it grows on you. I think it compares well with Circus Animals and on a personal level I think that the last three tracks are the best,(always good to finish the album with your strongest tracks). That includes the bonus track, which you don't have to wait too long for(unlike Robbie's!. So that is it, just go and buy it you won't regret it, especially you Lenny Kravitz fans!
