Old recordings need some degree or other of cleaning up, noise reduction and so on. This transfer sounds on some tracks just like the original 78 records, ie, very scratchy and distorted. There is no excuse as modern technology can make really rough old recordings sound good.The selection of tracks is excellent and the booklet gives the chronological discography and info on some other CD's from the same company. I think it is wise for me to give them a miss if this CD is a typical example of the quality or lack of it.
