The most creative and seductive set of tango music in years. I can not praise this CD enough. It is original, funny & sexy. I love every track because there is always a surprise round the corner. The music is so well played. Every note seems to be absolutely right. If as I have said before you are a lover of scratchy music dog out in the latest archealogical dig on clay tablets you must just as well not touch this CD. It takes some time to grow on you but once it does it never lets go. It deserves 15 stars.

Why Nine Black Alps aren't more well known always puzzles me; great riffs, meaningful sing-along lyrics and a respectful nod back to early grunge.

There really isn't a bad track on here.

If their next album, due 2007, follows on from this effort, surely it will put Nine Black Alps into the limelight which they richly deserve.

This man is a great singer, to the people who recognise true great voices of our generation this man is excellent I haven't heard much of him in the media, but if anyone deserves to be in there with all the others its Lukie D! My favourites are "You are my reason and New Day, Great great great buy buy buy you won't be dissapointed, the music itself is kinda summer reggae beats, Mixture of R Kelly and Eddie Grant I would say myself. So yeah BUY IT!!!

Lest anyone be confused this set is just 'A Song for You', 'Close to You' and 'The Carpenters', all wrapped into one neat box. Great music without a doubt, but one could wish that the commercial machine would stop grinding and regurgitating Carpenters material under so many different names.

Fine set for completists, but if you wanted their greatest hits (whether on one CD or two or three) this isn't it.

This box set has been rather too harshly criticized - so here's my defence of it.
If it were narrowed down to three discs instead of four or five it would serve a purpose.
The Remix disc is the major flaw for me. Even though Everything's Gone Green and World In Motion have been shunted to the remix disc, it's expendable: only a few remixed songs have been given valid alternative treatments (Confusion and, oddly, Fine Time stand out), most have been destroyed and/or are unrecognizable.
Disc 5 will have been a disappointment to those who acquired it. It's comprised of remixes, a semi-live version of Perfect Kiss, the much touted 18-minute version of Elegia in which nothing happens four or five times (it sounds like each segment of the ... Read More:

I first heard of P!atd years ago and considered buying their album...but after listening to the previews I decided to give it a pass, it didn't really seem like my thing. However, a few weeks ago my friend was trying to get me to buy an album too so we'd get the special offer...and the only thing I could see was this album, so I thought "Why not?".
