Similar to previous review, I wasn't sure on first listen, a bit disappointed it wasn't a typical Fatboy house mix. But I gave it another chance and there are mainly cracking tunes on there which really grow on you.

I've now been playing this CD every other day for a few weeks and seem to enjoy it more each time.

I would recommend anyone to buy this - it will open you to some great tunes you've never heard before.

Since coming under the wing of the Sanctuary group, Trojan have gone from strength to strength, and this compilation is one of the strongest they have put out. Dub reggae was a particularly innovative and influential genre which created huge reputations for some of the best producers, engineers and musicians who created it. Laurence Cane-Honeysett has compiled the anthology in chronological order and the set rightly opens with Andy Capp's historic Pop-A-Top. From the notes I discovered that the inspiration behind this surreal injunction, for which the entire lyric is "Pop-a-top", came from a then-current Jamaican radio jingle for Canada Dry. Perhaps I wish I hadn't.

All the favourite gems that I loved from the late 60's are here. I can't think of anything missing from the days of Ben Shermans, braces, tonic trousers, Crombies and Doc Martens. A few I havn't heard for nearly 40 years! With so many tracks there has to be a few that are not going to be to your taste.

Some of the cover versions are a bit naff, although I found a few good, new to me, tracks that more than make up for them. So 'Tighten Up' all you old (original) skinheads and lovers of original Jamacian reggae buy this one, and any new to old fashioned reggae, even Amy Winehouse recorded Money Man. You will not be let down by this fine collection.
