. Clubber's Guide to... GermanySearch: Joey Negro by: Various Release Date August 14, 2000 CD1 by DJ Taucher is one of the best trance mixes i own. Starting out with his own mix allright, he sets the mood blending des mitchell's welcome to the dance very sharply. He then journey's through robotic funk and deep house until he through's Rank 1's Airwave (Hint: be sure to grab the nearest female and enjoy this one together). The CD gets much harder with Mario Piu's Communication and then journey's through all genres of electronic music and finishes strong with Arabian Pleasure and Synaesthesia. Overall a very good CD. CD2 is very housey, not really to my liking, overall good mixing by the Knee Deep Bros, but the track selection just isnt to my liking being 100% trancy pants. Strong vocals and uplifting beats define this album as the best installment in the DH series. Highly recommended if you like your disco to put a smile on your face and get you dancing. |

. Essential MixSearch: Joey Negro by: Pete Tong Release Date March 20, 2001 Well kids here it is the one mix I can say nothing bad about. If there is any drawback to this cd I can't find it. Pete Tong has put together a finely crafted musical masterpiece in his Essential Mix 2000. From the start of the cd with the song Touch Me you can't help but smile and move you body. With all the mid-rate house cd's that have come out lately it's nice to hear something with true substance. Pete Tong's track selection for this disc is perfect from Hipp-e and Halo to Stylus to Cass and then ending the cd with the amazing song from Planet Funk Chase the Sun. I have never heard a disc that has made me move as much as this one and if you can't hear me on that you need to unclog your ears and give it another listen. I can only end this review ... . Dance Nation 2001Search: Joey Negro by: Various Artists Release Date Classic tunes from 2001 on this Austalian released album. The first CD is harder dance with tracks from Norman Bass, Mario Piu, Rhythmkillaz and Rachel Auburn. Side 2 is a lighter, funkier mix opening with Jakatta's 'American Dream' going on to Cleptomaniacs and Disco-Tex before getting a bit darker and more progresive with (love)Tattoo, Simon, and Blaze. There are also some top mixes by Timo Maas, Steve Lawler and Warp Brothers for the likes of Placebo, Cevin Fisher and Modem. A good all - rounder. |
