scepter and Wand records housed most famously the shirelles and was also the home of the post cameo Candy and the kisses [if you can find their Cd get it] Nella Dodds was known for her version of 'Come see about me' which charted before the supremes version overtook it and knocked it off course, The best track in my opinion is 'You don't love me anymore' but the whole Cd is worth having, if you are a collector of this kind of music then it really is a perfect addition to your stack of female vocal pop/soul..so buy it.

You've got to be kidding. This sort of marketing ought to be illegal. First off, this isn't the Electric Prunes at all. Some of the same line-up from 'Mass In F Minor' (a lot better of an album) than this true insult to all Prunes fans. I've heard about this (strictly for completists) later-day Prunes record in various music collectors publications but I never thought any record label would bother to reissue it on CD. It's not all that terrible, it's just the VERY idea of tagging this disc as an Electric Prunes CD. Tunes here that I could be coaxed into sitting through again are "Finders Keepers, Losers Weepers", maybe "Violent Rose" and the semi-uplifting "Sing To Me". Listen to this site's provided sound clips before considering purchasing. ... Read More:

There's something about outtakes from the 60s that just doesn't inspire as outtakes from the 50s and 70s do. On the whole this is because of the quality of material not being as good, but that can't be levelled at this collection. Taking material from all the sessions between the Elvis Is Back session through and beyond the Guitar Man sessions, this pulls some of the best songs from the period. What makes these less remarkable I think is that Elvis' sound was well established in the 60s, and he just didn't seem to need to work quite so hard. Not that "Elvis Is Back" is necessarily a worse album that "Loving You" or "Elvis In Memphis"... but it sounds 'easier'.
What you end up with are outtakes that sound pretty much like the original. ... Read More:

This collection of great songs was released around 1965, when Elvis was focusing on his acting career.
This, almost early compilation of old and new features some exceptional music.
The likes of 'Memphis Tennessee' is exceptional music, driven by tremndous drumming and tremendous vocals by the King.
The entire CD is as diverse as possible, ranging from utterly marvelous blues such as 'When it Rains it Really Pours' to light opera, 'Santa Lucia' sung in Italian.
'Tomorrow Night' dates back to the Sun days and this is excellent rythm and blues. There are also songs from the movies; 'In My Way' from the marvelous 'Wild In The Country' is a terrific ballad, you will paly this over and over.
