Dream Sequence: the Best of Tangerine DreamSearch: Love on a Real Train by: Tangerine Dream Release Date July 01, 1996 This 2 CD set contains a fair representation of almost all of the Tangerine Dream albums recorded in the period 1973 to 1983 (the only ones missing are "Sorcerer", "Pergamon" and "Cyclone"). While it is not always the best track from each album that makes it into this set, and some are presented in bleeding chunk form only, these discs do give the listener a good overview of each album, making this a good sampler set from which to set out on an exploration of the music of Tangerine Dream's so-called Virgin Years. I don't usually approve of 'best of' collections, and usually rate them accordingly, but I'm prepared to make an exception in this case because of the completeness, variety of programming and value ... Risky Business - OstSearch: Love on a Real Train by: Original Soundtrack Release Date May 18, 1987 If you watched the movie Risky Business and liked it - it probably has something to do with the moody background music that was played during intense moments in the movie. Intense music for an intense movie. And for me, this was Tom Cruise at his best. Young, energetic, wild and crazy, yet still deep. Deep in emotion. Emotion that has been fully enhanced by music. For me, this movie was really deep. And I was only 15 when i saw it. The music was deep and emotional. For me, it is tangerine dream at its best. If you want music that makes you think, or concentrate then get this album just for the tangerine dream songs. This soundtrack is the only place you will find them. |

The Keep - Film Music of Tangerine Dream [German Import]Search: Love on a Real Train by: the Fantasy Merchants Release Date January 17, 2000 I have not seen the film of the keep,but the soundtrack to it is not the same as the soundtrack that i have.Their are no tracks from the keep that i hve on my album.The first track on the album is called Puer Natus Est Nobis {Gloria theme }and it lets you think that you are going to be listening to choir boys but then the second track goes into the familiar music of t.d.with a sound like Indian music but not quite Indian music.I enjoy the album when i listen to it as there is all different sounds of music throughout the album whereas some soundtracks i have all sound the same. |

I bought this originally years ago for two tracks only - "Love On A Real Train" and "The Dream Is Always The Same". These two discs have since served well subsequently in the car. Not sure if the mastering is from the "Definitive" work done in the nineties, or whether it's just the original that's been repackaged, but WELL WORTH IT as an introduction to their "classic" years with Virgin. |
