. Bend Me Shape MeSearch: Magnificent Seven by: Amen Corner Release Date May 31, 2004 A curious album, this one. I wanted to round out my collection of "sixties CDs" with an Amen Corner compilation, and this certainly looked a goody. 2 CDs, with the 5 important UK hits, "Gin House", "Bend Me Shape Me", "High In The Sky", "(If Paradise is)Half as Nice" and "Hello Suzie". These are the important tracks, the rest (for me at least) are interesting fillers. My aim was to get CD quality recordings of the tracks I played back in the sixties. Unfortunately, that's NOT what I got. The first three hits were originally Deram tracks. Maybe there was some sort of royalty problem but they are presented as "Live" tracks. Apart from being misleading (Why not, for instance list the track as "Bend Me Shape Me (Live)"?) the vocals are often drowned ... Read More: |
