. Rossini - The Thieving MagpieSearch: Maybe by: Gioachino Rossini, David Parry Release Date June 23, 2003 Joyful recording of a very under-rated opera, with crystal clear acoustics. The Philharmonia Orchestra is outstanding and the CD is worth buying just to listen to the overture. If I am being very picky then I have to say that the singing is a little uneven in parts; for my tastes Ninetta sometimes too dramatic; Giannetto too down beat. But nevertheless a 2-disc set I am very glad to own. |
