This to my mind Joao/Laghina's best album. Unlike their other work, there is none of the vocal and general ambition one is used to from this wife and husband team. So, on first listen it feels like lightweight pop. But the percussion by, Don Alias, the bass flute like sound of Gilberto Gil voice, as well as Joao's voice, and the complexity of the arrangements make for one of the most compelling jazz albums of own times. Joao has never sung better, though it does lack the ambition of previous work - and to good effect.

This album had alot of hype when it released and Ive always been a fan of The Monch but I was pretty dissappointed with this. It lacked direction for me and a couple of tracks are a little bit cheesy. There's no doubt he's got his own liquid style which is addictive and he deserves respect for being true but IMO you're better off buying 'Finding Forever' by Common.
