Just a quick note to say what a fantastic album this is. Comets on fire squeeze more musical ideas into 44 minutes than most bands manage on 5 albums. If you not scared by music which embraces the past but also pushes the boundaries then this is a record for you. It's loud, peaceful, discordant, melodic, beautiful.

I can also recommend the latest from them 'Avatar'

Oh and may I suggest the last reviewer sticks with his Keane and Coldplay albums in the future.

Armageddon were a heavy-riffing quartet fronted by ex-Yardbird, Keith Relf (he died the year after this 1975 release). It's ironic that a member of the band that evolved into Led Zeppelin ended up forming a band that trailed in Zep's wake. By the mid-1970s hard rock bands were so common that something special was needed to stand out from the crowd. Armageddon didn't really have any such feature but they were, on this evidence, a superb group of musicians.

'Buzzard' opens up at a breakneck pace, nifty fretwork and inventive drumming grabbing your attention from the first. The opening riff, however, is repeated, and again and again - in different keys and octaves, admittedly, but it does wear thin eventually. Over-repetition does ... Read More:
