A 'good' selection from Jazzie B rather than a great one. I was disappointed as I felt a lot of the tracks were weaker than the ones he plays on his excellent Saturday night radio show (94.9 BBC London) 10.00. This collection is at its best when it goes down the Lovers Rock route and stays away from Dee Jays like I Roy and Tapper Zuki. Standout tracks are from Horace Andy, Gregory Issacs and the wonderful 'Reggae Feeling' from Freddie McGregor. This is a Trojan collection and perhaps, ultimately, Trojan was a slightly weaker label than Ark or Studio 1. Still worth buying.

approach this with a degree of caution. the tracks featured are 'single edits' of the (to me, at least) far more familiar album tracks. hence, the likes of ''...phoenix'', ''look of love'' and ''walk on by'' are presented in a drastically truncated format. as such, the compilation falls down as a truely representative sampling of hayes's work.
