Already in her 50s, and facing the end of a long career marked by many successes and many periods of total neglect, the diminutive English soprano Maggie Teyte suddenly became a singer everyone wanted to hear in the early 1940s. Her little red labelled recordings of French songs, mostly accompanied by Gerald Moore, found a ready market, even in far distant Australia, and reopened the doors of concert halls to her in England and North America. Here was a singer who had sung many of these songs with the composers at the piano. Even in the early 1950s, her voice still well preserved, she could attract a huge audience to a solo recital in London's vast Albert Hall.

For a relaxing couple of hours just to yourself, plug in the headphones and sit back and enjoy. The music flows pleasantly from soft and light to that more uplifting fibrancy that pulls you and your heart and mind to an edge of pleasure but without going overboard into the more emotional and vibrant pieces. For myself i have preferred using a travel mask to totally remove myself from the house around me! Really relaxing!
