I was introduced to Pinetop Seven by a friend during a recent trip to the States. This is the band's most recent album and is well worth your while. The lyrics are exceptionally conceived and original (and sung with a beautiful voice not unlike that of Thom Yorke) . the songs and musicianship are strange and beautiful and unlike anything else out there. The group uses quite a broad arsenal of instruments (xylephone, harmoniam, etc) to acheive their sound which seems grounded in American music but has enough outside foreign influences to give it real originality. The band should appeal to fans of everyone from Radiohead to Giant Sand. I imagine it won't be long before they gain more recognition in Europe.

This is by far the best box set ever, so much has gone into this set, so many wonderfull tracks, almost three hours of great music, this set has every cue written for the movie, the music is interesting because it is so diverse, the sea the ship, and Tahiti, beautiful native music that greeted the Bounty as she droped anchor in the bay , along with the bombastic glorious main theme, a very informative book all the posters, and pictures on each disc ,I cannot praise this set enough, also an alternate recording of the soundtrack is found here, well done.
