This compilation contains its share of huge hits, minor hitettes and obscure masterpieces. The title is not quite correct, as some of these tracks date from the late 1970s, e.g. Tubeway Army’s Are Friends Electric? (1978). Besides, bands like The Stranglers produced their best work in the 70s.
The most familiar songs on Disc One are Blue Monday by New Order (a timeless club hit), the brilliant World Shut Your Mouth by Julian Cope, The King Of Rock ‘n Roll by Prefab Sprout and Pretty In Pink by The Psychedelic Furs.
Rock The Casbah by The Clash and Dream Academy’s lovely interpretation of Nick Drake’s Life In A Northern Town were hits too, but my favourites are the Bauhaus version of Bowie’s ... Read More:

Its a crying shame this album has has become harder to obtain. How refreshing to hear the likes of New Order and Dee-Lite again; music with zip and imagination; music which is rarely heard today. Station after station plays dross, often of a most depressing kind - not what I want to hear first thing in the morning. Come on music industry, pull your finger out. Put the zip and imagination back into music - it may make life a bit more bearable.

If you were at school or college in the early 90's this will bring back mad(chester) memories. All the tapes you put together for cheap wine or cider parties are on here without the bother of having to turn it over. This should be marketed as an exercise c.d as you won't stop dancing. I dare you to find a song on this double c.d that you'd want to skip....enjoy!

There is not much one can say about this compilation except that it is BRILLIANT! 80s classics blend in harmonically with the rock anthems of the era. Ideal for a party, for relaxing, for HAVING FUN, as we all need a bit of cheering up these days! Great for the Office partys. Guarranteed to have everyone up and dancing. This does the trick. Just as good as Schooldisco.Com The revision Guide 2. I would suggest getting both for a more complete collection. Highly recommended for those who are bombarded by compilations regarding the 80s and don't know which one to chose. This one has it all!!!

Ministry of Sound has come along way since its origins in the early 90's. In fact, it literally has - their albums seem so far away from the famous club that it no longer resembles any relevance or any connection to the place that was once 'the' place to go to. Luckily, I own The Annual Vol.1 to remind of 'back in the day'...
If it's not special enough to just own this piece of history, then its lovely dark royal blue leather book-case will surely make you feel special. I would describe it as 'innocent' - the label MoS wasn't even recognised worldwide by the time this album was released. And just looking at this plain blue cover shows how un-commercial the club, and indeed the album was back then. It has a sense of pride with its silver lettering, ... Read More:

It might just be mine but the track listing for cd 2 are wrong, all the track numbers are out by one because there seems to be an unstated track at the beginning, overall not the best on (probably the worst)

The 80's had some of the best bands and the best music ... and this double CD gives you a great selection. There are some tracks here that I didn't really remember until I listened to them. This CD mixes some of the most famous 80's tracks with those that are less well-known and I think that this serves it well. It's not a compilation of stuff that you are guaranteed to already have so it will add to your collection!
Simply Brill! Relive those school days with some fab music!
