People reading this may be confused with the attitude that I am taking with Pantera's thrash anthem of '92 which I have just awarded five stars-that is,don't buy this unless you already own the Vulgar display of power album that this has been lifted off.
Got it?

The thing is,whilst Walk is one of the most exhilarating metal sing-a-longs of all time(a friend once agreed with me that you'd have to be dead not to appreciate its sheer heavy ,yet gloriously catchy melody)to avoid buying the Texan's superb career best album would be,frankly, a crime.If you are a collector,Walk doesnt add any live tracks or b-sides,merely a superior album track- No good (attack the radical)which isnt exactly a rarity.

is there another album cover that screams 'vulgar display of power'?

unlike many other bands, who's 2nd album seems to flop dearly, Pantera's second album (or 6th, if you count the self-relased ones), is metal at its most powerful, devestating, and angry state. Songs like Mouth for war, Walk, This Love (absolutely NOTHING to do with the Maroon 5 song of the same name, thank you very much), and a new level have monster riffs and vocals; but the entire album is listenable without skipping any songs. Phil Anselmo's voice without the high pitched wails suits the music well.

if you like the watered down 'metal' of today (i.e. avenged sevenfold, trivium) you will probably think it too angry and heavy. However, if you like ... Read More:
