This collection of Charles Manson's songs, recorded by The Family in 1970 (around the time of the Tate/La Bianca trial) features Steve "Clem" Grogan on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, with backing vocals by various Family members including Squeaky, Sandy, Catherine "Gypsy" Share (on violin) and Nancy "Brenda" Pitman. The 18 page booklet includes philosophical observations by Squeaky, Sandy and Charlie himself.
The music and songs - sort of apocalyptic folk round-the-camp-fire style - are surprisingly good, with nice melodies enthusiastically performed by people clearly at home with themselves and each other.
