If I could give 6/5 I would do it. I have never ever heard anyone play both Rachmaninov and Scriabin better than Horowitz, the great master for this sort of music, and a personal friend of Rachmaninov himself.
Horowitz is no good for the Vienna masters, but for the Slavic masters he is the man indeed.
On this cd we find a rejuvinated Horowitz after disappearing from the stage for about fifteen years. Horowitz was at the height of his emotional and technical skills, and he was already pretty mature.
