Their first album, self titled and their second, My I'm Large are as great as this one, their third and the last one with the original line up. Gunner left after this album and then they had a revolving door for his position and the gal.

We got to see them live in their prime in the 80's about 5 times in L.A. and San Diego. Who could ask for more from an accapella group? Smarty pants lyrics, awesome harmony but not 50's doo wop, great covers of rock standards reworked to be done accapella (LED ZEPPLIN and JIMI HENDRIX! amongst others).

This album has maybe their finest song ever, 'Santa Ana Woman' a tale, as all their songs are, that is, every song they sing is a story, with a noir lyrical feeling and a humerous ending. ... Read More:

I became a huge fan of Reba in 1980, when I heard her third album, Feel the fire. Six of it's tracks are included on this excellent double CD of Reba's early music.

Seven of the tracks here were never released before this compilation. The others are taken from her Mercury albums, including all her big hits of the period. All those albums were released on CD but most appear to be out of print now. The overall feel of the music is traditional country with a (slight) pop flavor, but nowhere near as much of a pop flavor as most of Reba's nineties music.

There are some great covers in this set, including a stunning version of Little Anthony's Tears on my pillow. I've heard many great versions of this song, but Reba's is as good ... Read More:

If you've been enjoying Theme Time Radio Hour then you might want to track down some of the music from the series. Ace have released an excellent authorised double CD package, and when you've bought that one you might want to consider this as a follow-up. There's not quite as good or as wide a musical selection here, presumably due to the selections being made from out of copyright material, but there is still a goodly amount of good music to be enjoyed. Worth having.
