This cd contains four brand new recordings. The other sixteen songs are those that made up the Alvin Stardust Story cd (also available as the My Coo-Ca-Choo cd). Note the hit songs are not the originals from the seventies and eighties.

Of the four new songs my favourite is the version of C'mon Everybody. I've seen Alvin perform this song on stage to great effect and on the cd the arrangement is similar. I also like the arrangement of I Saw Her Standing There, while Mustang Sally is a song just made for Alvin. Completing the quartet is a studio version of Johnny B Goode. It's definitely worth buying the cd for these four songs alone.

This a Brian Eno album with a large contribition from the members of U2. Understood like that then you won't be disappointed in the way other listeners have been with this album. Miss Sarajevo is a marvellous track and Pavarotti's singing is quite moving. There are a few lemons on the album but by and large those interested in Eno and U2 will find something here to enjoy. The only truly baffling thing about this CD is how the cover art was selected. It is truly terrible. It appears to be either guache or chalks on black paper. How musicians with the resources of Eno and U2 decided to select this amateur artwork for their front cover is hard for me to understand. Why do I focus on the artwork? This CD is an excellent representation of the marvellous musical soundtrack to the Michael Mann film 'Heat'.

It contains (chronologically amazingly !) all the sections and pieces which any fan of the film will be familiar with, but it stands as a good musical compilation in itself.

Contributions from Moby and Lisa Gerrard are notable, but every track exhibits musical quality to support the action and emotional themes of the film.

The sound quality is excellent and the running time is over an hour (soundtrack CDs can sometimes be quite short !).
