This meeting between two of the greatest musical legends of the 20th century, was rated a disapointment at the time it was released. I, myself felt let down, not long enough, not enough Ellington songs and the whole enterprise seemed a bit tired. After many listening though I found that it has really grown on me. I am now some thing of a champion for it. Sinatra's singing is a bit rougher, but Sinatra rough is miles ahead of most others. The Ellington band was awesome,with shining solos from Johnny Hodges, Paul Gonsalves and Cootie Williams. Fine arranements from Billy May, as always, though I would have loved to hear what Ellington and Billy Strayhorn would have come up with.
