There is a great feel to this album. The tracks slither and glide around your sound system and grow on you over time. In the 5 years's I've had this album it has grown on me like a fine wine.
There are two weak tracks, but don't all albums have those?
The band Plant assembled here (and reprised more or less for Mighty Rearranger) are the best live band I have ever seen... sadly they arent currently touring as Plant is on the road with Alison Krauss.
If they are to record together no more, this album will stand as the zenith of what they achieved - if you like Plant/zep or the general vibe of the 1960's west coast american blues movement you need this album! Its a underrated classic, and tracking back the ... Read More:

First I must congratulate myself on a thoughtful and rather clever title. Not mine I hasten to add! Like a lot of Bob Dylan lines you'll find one to fit practically any given situation. Try it out. It's quite bizarre. That's the greatness of 'His Bobness' though. Already I digress. Back to the rekkerd - as our American friends say. This is truly awful. Why anyone thinks this is good stuff is beyond me. And I'm 6ft 2ins!! They all sound like bad impersonations of bad impersonations of Bob. And believe me, they are!! Listen people - I'm a Bob afficianado, and when I hear these dire warblings (Going to Acapulco an exception for some reason I can't explain) I feel very very depressed. Like a lot of people I laughed the first time I heard the ... Read More:

There's no doubting Bic Runga's live tallent- her crystal clear voice is as striking as ever and the orchestration from the Christchurch Symphony is beautiful. This eleven track album mixes some of her own songs (precious Things, Bursting Through, Beautiful Collision etc) with cover versions of old classics such as Burt Bacharac's Anyone Who Had A Heart, Jaques Brel's Ne Me Quitte Pas, Wishing On A Star and No More Shall We Part. The only thing about this album is her better tracks from her first two albums aren't included- Sway, When I See You Smile and Get Some Sleep are all missing, but the fantastic covers do make up for this.

I love this package and the problem with saying what I like about it is that EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT!
People seem to forget that they are only giving their opinions in reviews like this. It is alright to say a particular track is the best ever but the package is spoiled by the inclusion of another track, because guess what? Someone else will like that track.
Some people have said that there were 'mistakes' but some of those mistakes are Robert's quoted favourite albums. I don't think saying that I love a particular album will get anyone to buy this, nor that I hate one but what I will say is that Robert's music, just like Led Zeppelin, has been a great discovery for me and it's all here, honest and laid bare and so different and yet with a continuous ... I have to admit that I am not a great Dylan fan. I adore Jimi Hendrix version of 'All Along the Watchtower' and Nina Simone's version of 'I Shall Be Released'. Yet when I listen to 'Desire' I can suddenly suspend my previous preconceptions and understand some of Dylan's appeal. Starting off with 'Hurricane', a superb indictement of judicial Racism, with lyrics which really hit their target. The rest of the album concerns some far more personal material, such as the last track 'Sara'concerning his wife whom he was on the point of divorcing, a beautifully direct love song, with sublime lyrics. The rest of the tracks seem to dwell on unfufilled love 'One More Cup of Cofee' or 'Mozambique' or to tales about various rough diamonds who seem to be bordering on outlaw existence, such as 'Joey' ...
