Brownstone was another of these groups. Their debut album was/is amazing. Full of soulful tunes and (quite frankly) stupendously powerful vocals and harmonies. All you need to do is listen to Nicci, Maxee and Mimi bring the house (and possibly the studio) down with songs such as 'Don't Cry For Me', 'Grapevyne' and 'If You Love Me'.

The CD contains a number of different of artists some famous e.g. Apparently nothing - Young Disciples, Always there - Incognito, Remember me - Blueboy, Dream come true - Brand New Heavies and some not so well known to the initiate, e.g. Frederick lies still - Galliano, Feels like - Ebony, Jesse - Mother Earth. For this reason, I think it is worth for someone new to Acid Jazz - it introduces to a wide range of music and instruments played. For the new people on the block its easy listening and pleasing to the ear, but you're able to 'get down' to something funky but 'meaningful'. Yet for those who consider themselves 'journeymen/women' to AJ it allows you to fill in your cd collection of the odd titles that are missing.
