I initially bought this cd set to do a project on T.V. music. But it has become a favouite of mine. Some of the finest pieces of music are contained on these 2 discs. The Guiness advert is a personal favourite as is the Karl Orff tune. The music is so powerful, so inspirational. If you enjoy this sort of music you'll love these cd's, and even if you dont there are still tunes that you can relate to because of their prestige in world music.

Stirring compilation geared to the curious fan looking for Classical of a more tempestuous temperament!
The audio quality & all the performances are all excellent (no dusty mono recordings here!!)and what a fantastic tracklist. Tchaikovsky, Holst, Wagner, Prokofiev, Mussorgsky, Stravinsky and even Hans Zimmer with the battle music from Gladiator.
So much superb Wagner here as an introduction, and such masterpieces as The Rite Of Spring, Mars The Bringer Of War & excerpts from Pictures At An Exhibition - Just way too many to list, and this is probably my favourite compilation of all!
I'd recommend this and Heavy Classix from Amazon UK as a superb companion piece.

This CD really brought to life all the joys of music. It is a compelling and relaxing compilation. I would recommend this CD to absolutely anybody as it has such a mixture and variety, it gets everyone involved in the joy it brings.
