I am gutted cos I have lost one of the CDs in this amazing double album. Even with one CD is is TOPS. My favorites are Lemar singing the Darkness Track, and James Blunt singing Lemar..... as I said Pure Gold!

As far as compilation albums go this is good, in fact very good BUT it could have been even better. While both discs are brimming with great chill-out moments from the likes of Lemon Jelly, Sigur Ros, Royksopp, Richard Hawley etc. the flip side of the coin sees Norah Jones (WHY????), Coldplay (NOT AGAIN !!!) and Corinne Bailey Rae (YAWN) damage your senses. Stand out track is Angi by Davy Graham (I'll definately be checking out more of his music) and who in their right mind will want to hear Nizlopi's JCB Song on a Sunday morning after a heavy night on the booze?

C.D.two first. It's dancy and trancy and here and there it sounds rather dated it has to be said. One or two tracks depart from old formulas enough to sustain some interest but it's passable at best and comes across as a "bonus disc". Never mind, focus on C.D. one which for my money is the album proper.
O.K. C.D.one. It sounds more like Gong than Gong used to, with (perhaps inevitable?...) overlays of Hawkwind space rock. It has to be some sort of homage to Allen's pot hed pixie clan and the ultimate space rockers of old. So if you like space rok with some tasty asian style dub thrown in then this part of the double cd package will please, and I think it is a bit of a blinder. I checked by playing 'Night on Earth' and there are English subtitles printed on the frame of the movie
