Of especial note are the 1971 TOTP recordings of Let's Hang On and I've Got You Under My Skin, both live, very well recorded and very true to the 1971 stage sound. Frankie's voice is at its best and this has to be heard loud to get the full dramatic impact. Thoroughly recommended.

An astonishing album this. I have been a follower of G Clinton Esq. eversince the mid 70's Maggot Brain: Remastered, and have had my mind and senses blown away by his ever changing, ever evolving journey, as he blazed the trail of Funk Chocolate City: Remastered, then P-Funk Mothership Connection ahead of pretty much everyone on the planet. So what do we make of this unexpected foray into the world of schmaltzy love songs?
It stands up. Production-wise it's a tour de force, with really interesting, brave and edgy treatments that less daring individuals and artists would simply not engage with. My stereo has rarely sounded better.

There's very little that I could add to what previous reviewer "Unsmart" has said except that the set has 10 previously unreleased songs,10 songs in first-time-ever stereo, 2 previously unreleased versions,and three selections that had previously been released only on vinyl(on obscure U.S.A. & Canada albums).

The first 3 discs go through the complete sessionography in mono sound, and Disc four presents a representative sampling of 34 of the group's stereo mixes.

I'm slightly disappointed that the stereo mix of "You're No Good" isn't included on the stereo disc(though the mix is easily available on other CD's), and that the bizzare stereo mix of "Long Tall Sally" IS included(in that mix, an instruments left/vocals ... Read More:
