For starters, this score was nominated for Best Original Score, one of four of Horner's work in the last quarter of 2003 (the others being The Missing, Radio and Beyond Borders). Which in a way is surprising - this is almost certainly the quietest score of the year.

House Of Sand And Fog is a film based on the Oprah Winfrey-endorsed novel by Andre Dubus III about the lives of a woman who was evicted from her home and the subsequent owners, an Iranian family, both claiming that it is an absolute necessity for them to live in the house, and the resulting dramatic conflicts that occur. September 22nd 1983. Magical evening, sitting in the Albert Hall waiting for the moment when the Everly Brothers would sing together again.
The concert flew by, and now listening to this CD it brings back so many memories.
From the first song till the last their voices sounded just as they always did.
Most of their hits are here, "walk right back" "bye, bye love" "crying in the rain" to name but a few.
The highlights for me were the songs they sang just sitting on stools on stage taken from the "Songs our daddy taught us" LP and "Let it be me" - the look on their faces as they sang this. really came across to the audience that they were glad to be back singing together again.

I looked and ideed it was so I paid nearly $30 bucks for a CD that I could get at Walmart for $9.99. Today it arrived and it is the same CD that I can get at Walmart.
