I been searching for a chill out compilation that reaches the highs of Sunset Ibiza for years. Nothing comes close. The rest lack imagination and seem monotonous by comparison. This is as good as it gets.

ZTT were one of THE great record labels during my formative years and this beautifully fashioned collection is everything I hoped it would be. Pretty much all of the big hits and Trevor Horn productions are included, alongside a lot of lesser known but often equally interesting tunes by artists like The Frames, Heights of Abraham and Tara, who was Joan Collin's daughter, don't you know. I didn't.
Plus you get a DVD disc featuring 18 ZTT videos. Some of them have dated as you might expect, but there are some real gems here - like Shane MacGowan's `That Woman's Got Me Drinking', which was directed by and stars Johnny Depp, the rare Video Destructo version of Frankie's Two Tribes and Close (To The Edit) by the brilliant Art of Noise, with ... i dont know why other people haven't given this a blastin review this album is great, alright its not quite true all the bands are from manchester (moby) and the only reason you'd have to not like it is if you dont like that type of music, in which case, why did you buy it? its a class album with its fair share of wicked songs, theres one or two duff ones but there always is on a compilation cd.

These three lads would go onto to produce some of the most memorable electronic and dance music of the early 90's, but for now they seemed just to be working their way upto it. Contains an early version of 'Pacific' which is a must for all fans though.
Other highlights include the speedy 'Cobra Bora' and the female vocal led 'Anaconda'.
But it does lack consistency and there is no flow to the album. It just sounds as if it has been thrown together.

I'd never heard of this band before the Lovebox Weekender. I like most types of music, so happily sat down to listen...they were playing "old skool" house music!!! I was in my element!!
Absolutely excellent, which is why I am now on this site about to purchase their album!!!
