I really enjoyed the film and the soundtrack is great. I was happy to find it a double disc album which includes almost all the songs from the film, as well as songs that inspired the film and songs the actors chose for their characters.
If you are looking for the version of "Halleluja" from the film it is not on this soundtrack, it's on the album "Grace" by Jeff Buckley.
Wonderful introduction to some perhaps unknown German bands.
If you enjoyed the soundtrack at all during the film it's well worth purchasing it. If you're just looking for some new music to try out it's a good variety!

This compilation from 1989 includes quite a number of artists from earlier eras or those who were already well established at the time, like Phil Collins, Mike And The Mechanics, Cher, Tina Turner, U2, Dusty Springfield, Debbie Harry, Roy Orbison, Status Quo and Simple Minds. Relatively new ones include Electronic, Technotronic, The Stone Roses and Kaoma. i dont know why other people haven't given this a blastin review this album is great, alright its not quite true all the bands are from manchester (moby) and the only reason you'd have to not like it is if you dont like that type of music, in which case, why did you buy it? its a class album with its fair share of wicked songs, theres one or two duff ones but there always is on a compilation cd.

Disc one is titled '20th century' and contains such classics as Bowie's 'Heroes', Iggy Pop's 'Passengers, Radiohead's 'Creep', The Verve's 'Bittersweet Symphony' and many more in the same vein.
Disc Two,'21st century' is obviously more up to date with tunes from the groups that have emerged more recently like The Killers,Razorlight,Coldplay,Stereophonics,Embrace,Feeder ect ect.
