All the Right Reasons: (Special Edition 2008) plus DVDSearch: Photograph by: Nickelback Release Date September 08, 2008 Nickelback have always been at the forefront of the press and music critics tongue wagging citing them as humourless but when it comes to the music that matters as All The Right Reasons is a uplifting album especially on the good humoured track "Rockstar" with Billy Gibbons add a number of spoken word lyrics and "Photograph" would possibly end up on future power ballad compilations due to its lovely slow building riffs and lyrics sung sweetly by Chad Kroeger who then turns it around for "Animals" and Dimebag Darrell tribute track "Side of a bullet" courtesy of Dime's guitar solo whilst the lyrics condemns the guy in the song for robbing such a respected musician in the world of rock with his finger trigger. A Broken Frame [VINYL]Search: Photograph by: Depeche Mode Release Date April 02, 2007 Even in a back catalogue like Depeche Mode's (a band who have always gone out of their way not to repeat themselves) this album sticks out as markedly different. Having lost their former main songwriter, Vince Clarke, "A Broken Frame" was recorded as a trio, so Martin L. Gore had to prove he had enough good songs to fill an album. From their third album onwards, DeMo would flirt (and, indeed go to bed) with Industrial influences and be always on the lookout for interesting sounds to sample. Here, we find the band relying on the analogue synth sounds available to young bands. Nothing thus to distinguish them from their contemporaries? A Broken Frame: Collectors Edition/+DVDSearch: Photograph by: Depeche Mode Release Date October 02, 2006 this edition is great, but I was so disappointed when I found out that the two last tracks ("shouldn't have done that" and "the sun and the rainfall"--live in Hammersmith" were not on the dvd!! They are listed on the back cover, though. I checked the back cover of this edition on the Amazon website and noticed that Amazon does not list those two last tracks, but the back cover does list them, just like my own dvd/cd!! What's going on? Are there some that came out of the factory that have those two live tracks, or is it a misprint? Erick |
