Volume 2: the Later Years 1933-1952Search: Precious Jewel by: Delmore Brothers Release Date November 27, 2006 What a great find ,why have they been so overlooked?So many others copied them like the Monroe Brothers early 1936 recordings,the York Brothers,the Blue Sky Boys(so dreary)the Armstrong Twins and later the Louvin Brothers. but here is the real thing,my all time favourite track is "The trail of time"how moving.Thanks to box sets like this,the Delmore Brothers should get the acclaim they have deserved for so long.If you only want to buy one of the 3 Delmore Brothers box sets then I recommend this one,it has recordings all the way from 1933 to their last session together in august 1952 and includes sides with Merle Travis,Wayne Raney,Lonnie Glosson and Homer and Jethro.Thanks alot,Amazon and J.S.P. |
