After listening to this album for the first time in 2008, I simply don't understand how anyone can score this more than 2 stars.
To begin with, there are too many cover songs. Then to top that there are a few really naff "non metal/rock" tracks which turn the genre brand of VH on it's head. Some rock bands (UFO come to mind) can mix the heavy with the light and easy to great effect, but not VH. This is absolute rubbish and if your looking to get into VH back catalogue give this one a miss.

VH have finally released another album after a little dry spell.

It is aptly named Best Of Both Worlds which will become apparent later.

Basically, it appears that Sammy Hagar has returned to the fold and VH are re releasing around 30 or so of their old songs DLR & SH amidst the 2 disc set and bunging in 3 new ones recorded with Sammy.

It has been titled the Best Of Both Worlds as the punters believe that it is a play of words (Sammy & Dave) but it really means the band make a bit of cash with minimum effort plus a US tour.

this is my top van halen choice for those new to this great heavy metal band who are great both with david lee roth and sammy hagar. this is a 2-disc set of all their classic tracks from the 1980s.
poundcake, right now, and the cradle will rock, unchained, top of the world, jump, aint talkin bout love, and several others would be my favorite songs on this 2disc set. this would present rock fans with good taste so get this set today.
