Release Date January 01, 2007
I first saw this album mentioned in Metal Hammer, and i just bought it as a shot in the dark. Needless to say i was impressed, this album brings features from all avenues of rock and metal, The Title track New Protection features some very Power Metal harmonies but with a hint of Melodic death metal and some large orchestrations found in gothic rock.
I would happily sit down here and show you why each track is interesting but then again this would spoil the album for you, trust me when i say this is a progressive band with alot of potential.

The mind of a man; and a beautiful, wonderful man at that. I had no idea, neither had it occurred to me that he had done so much. Such splendour, poetry, breathtaking things that speak not so much of music as the bare bones of a land in which nature is stripped utterly bare and yet there are flowers, and the substance of energetic life everywhere.
This is so much here. There is, for instance, strangely, the theme from "The Woodentops", (a childrens puppet show from the 1960s on the BBC).
I heard this, and it was like an electric shock of some sort. Grieg's apprehension of small forms is so formidable that in a space of a minute or so, your whole frame of reference disappears, and you are transported at once to some ... Read More:

I've been rediscovering TRB, and although I'd written their second album off previously, I'm glad I hung onto it because it's proved to be an unexpected pleasure to listen to.
I can't speak for the extra tracks as I only have the vinyl, but of the original 11 tracks, 8 are really very good.
The first two songs, plus 'Days Of Rage' and 'Blue Murder' could be off the first album. 'Black Angel', 'Let My People Be' and 'Bully For You' are noticeably different as they bring in backing vocals, but they ALL work; 'Black Angel' rips off early 70's Stones years before Primal Scream started while 'Hold Out' ends the album on a crescendo which could be from Weller's 'Stanley Road' album.
'Crossing Over The Road' is throwaway (but ok) ... Read More:
