This type of cd is quite a specialist thing, there are not many people out there who want a disk full of sound effects unless they have specific use for them, i myself am a practising all be it amatueur musician (hopefully proffesional one day) so for me a very valuable tool. Most of the samples are good, although the alien type samples seem a little miss-placed for a collection of horror sound effects and really should'nt be in there at all. These sound effects for me will only come to life once woven into my very heavy metal music which will give the music a new level of horror and ambience

The Magician

Perhaps I was a little too hasty in my last judgemental review of this album. Admittedly the 3 songs I mentioned are the better ones, but these are really quite good. And even on the ones that aren't quite as good, Mario displays above average guitar skills and, in places, above average composition. Its also good to see some British shredders. I would favourably compare Mario's efforts on this album as similar to Tony macalpine (for example 'Heatwave') yet faster, and similar to Impellitteri's instrumentals (for example 'Intensities') although not quite *that* fast. Anyway, if you're into shred guitar music, you could probably do far worse than picking up a copy of 'The Magician', and I think it rightfully deserves 4 stars (not 3).
