JUST RECEIVED THIS IN THE POST AND WAS PLEASENTLY SUPRISED I ALSO RECEIVED VOL 1 YOUR PROBLEY THINKING YES YOUR RIGHT STARTED WITH VOL 13 AND WORKED MY WAY BACK THERE IS A METHOD IN MY MADNESS IM TOTALLY HOOKED ON THE CAFE DEL MAR THING IN FACT A FRIEND OF MINE IS HAVING HIS STAG WEEKEND IN IBIZA (WELL 4 DAYS) GUESS WHERE YOULL FIND ME CANT WAIT TILL JUNE AND BACK OVER AGAIN IN AUGUST.CAFE DEL MAR CAN BOAST 2 GREAT THINGS THE MUSIC AND OF COURSE THE SUNSETS.....OH BY THE WAY VOL1 IS BRILLIANT TO BEFORE I FORGET .WISH I COULD GIVE IT MORE THAN 5 STARS KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK C.D.M.

absolutley fantastic.

almost every single track here is a winner.

from the sublime 'summer in the city' by quincy jones (the inspiration for nightmares on wax's 'les nuits' & 'nights interlude' and the pharcyde's 'passing me by) to the wonderfully mellow version of 'everybody loves the sunshine' by RAMP this album is simply a must buy.

and if you thought kool & the gang were some sad 80's group, think again as you listen to the 8 and a half spaced out minutes of 'summer madness'

as those folks at harmless have released a number of series of compilations, i can only hope that they follow suit with mellow mellow and i look forward to number 2 in the series with eager anticipation.

This CD captures the essence of something very specailly, and if for no other reason than as a slice of history it is an essential addition to any collection.
The mixing is not flawless and the mix is eclectic, a genre buster, a redifiner a true reflection of back in the day. A great collection of the tunes that were the floor fillers. This collection even includes a couple of soul II soul specials, the precursors of that monumental, landmark, all time top ten anthem album "Club Classics Volume 1".
