I loved the 80s. Born early 70s, I was at secondary school during the 80s and loved all of this music. All the tracks are listed in the product detail so there isn't much to say about what's on the CD except I'm sure there's plenty of others that we all thought equally as fab that could've gone on. In fact, I think if they hadn't duplicated some artists then this would've been an idea. Because the tracks are all the original artist and it's a collection of previously recorded hits there isn't anything to comment on the type of music. The packaging is 3 CDs in their own separate case inside a slip box. My personal preference was for CD1 but CD2 is just as good. "Smash Hits - The 80s" is a superb collection of 80s hits but so much more than that, all the extras that you recieve with it are fantastic and you can spend ages enjoying this wonderful collector's item that is sure to delight all thoses who love the best decade of music.
If you are a fan of 1980s and the music from that wonderful area then this collections a must have, if you were around during those 10 years and a reader of "Smash Hits" magazine, you will no doubt enjoy it even more and all the happy memories will all come flooding back to you, I can guarantee it.
Fully recommened, a super release!

I really love these tracks, nice to have them all in one place. I really hope they will do a 2nd one soon, as there are some more rare SAW gems around. But for all that wonder if you should get this CD box set .... do so, it is really great. If I ever feel a bit down, I just stick the CD's one, and within seconds I feel great again! Buy it now, you won't regreat it.

If I went back to the 80s and early 90s, I really don't think I'd be calling the majority of these tunes classics - I would have used some rather foul language instead, I bet!
But I think a lot of pop music ages better than we imagine, however bad people may have thought it sounded at the time.
I really love this double-cd - I've played it basically non-stop since I got it. As another reviewer noted, it's surprising how many classics Pete had a hand in... Nik Kershaw, Musical Youth, and a personal favourite of mine "Fine Day" by Opus 3.
I always had a soft spot for Jason Donovan's singles - even though I would never have admitted that at the time. But listening to the likes of "Too Many Broken Hearts" now, I think he has a great ... Read More:
