The three CDs are filled with superb remastered and totally authentic recordings that span the incredible career of Frankie Valli and The four Seasons. The quality is superb, the versions presented here are the originals, in stereo or mono as is appropriate. The DVD is wonderful - classic live performances of the group at its peak. Of especial note are the 1971 TOTP recordings of Let's Hang On and I've Got You Under My Skin, both live, very well recorded and very true to the 1971 stage sound. Frankie's voice is at its best and this has to be heard loud to get the full dramatic impact. Thoroughly recommended.

There was a time when RCA had a policy of releasing country albums on vinyl with just nine tracks, but releasing extra tracks on CD. I had been considering buying a CD player for some time anyway, but when I discovered that the CD version of Southern star had thirteen tracks - four more than the vinyl version - my mind was made up, especially having heard some great songs from it on the radio.

It's a fantastic release. Great concert (perfect sound), some amazing extras (Gilmour's guitar pick, photographs, 24 pag. booklet etc). Imprescindible.

I have had this pack for a few days. It seems to offer the best value for money from the 3 available. The full package costs an extra £10 and for a CD of bits and pieces, it doesn't seem worth it.

I have listened to the audio CD's a few times and i am very impressed. David seems to be playing with a lot more vigor and as such the songs are a lot better than their album versions.

I have not watched the DVD's yet, but i watched the recent broadcast on BBC4.
Looking forwards to watching Echoes live.

It is a shame that the full concert was not released on DVD, but i suppose that will be a future release (synical marketing)
